How we handle your data - plainly and without legal fog.

1. Who we are
My Shared House is a private platform for sharing your own home with family and friends. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. If you have any questions, contact us at support@my-shared-house.com.
2. Data you give us
When you create an account we store your name, email address, phone number and a securely hashed password. When you use the platform we store the content you add: property details, photos and videos, booking requests, and the notes attached to them. We only ask for what the platform needs to work.
3. Analytics
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted on servers in the European Union, to understand how the platform is used - for example which pages are visited and whether sign-up works well. We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build advertising profiles, and we never sell your data.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie that remembers your language. Analytics data is kept in your browser's local storage, not in third-party cookies. There are no advertising cookies.
5. Where your data lives
All data is stored in the European Union: the application and its database run on AWS in Frankfurt, uploaded photos and videos are stored with a European storage provider, and transactional emails are sent through Resend. Data is encrypted in transit.
6. Who can see your content
Apartment pages are protected by a password chosen by the owner. Only people who have both the link and the password can see a property, and booking details are visible only to the owner and the guest involved. We never publish your content or share it with third parties for marketing.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or delete your account at any time from your settings - deletion removes your personal data from the platform. For anything else, email us and we will help.
